The BD Black Diamond Index Ascender is an ascender handle designed for rope ascents in caving or big wall climbing, or for overcoming particularly difficult passages in climbing.

The Index Ascender is a very comfortable Jumar even without gloves, thanks to its ergonomic grip.
The two lower holes allow the use of two carabiners (one for the lanyard and one for the pedal).

The rope catch is serrated and has a groove that eliminates impurities and keeps the ascender working even if the rope is wet, dirty or icy.
