Edelweiss Lithium 8.5 mm Perform 3 is a climbing and mountaineering half rope designed for high-level ascents on rock, snow or ice. With a diameter of 8.5 mm Lithium has a very low impact force, a very low weight and can withstand an excellent number of falls according to UIAA standards: 12.
This string benefits from the Perform 3 treatment which uses a series of polymers that make the string lighter and softer than normal.
The HD Cover treatment, on the other hand, makes sure that the threads of the sock are intertwined one on one instead of two on two like most ropes. This allows for a smoother sock, facilitating insurance with the safety device and also prolongs its life by decreasing the wear and tear associated with abrasion.
